CHAKRA BALANCING

**I earned my Certificate for Chakra Cleanse through Patricia McPherson at Derwen Holistic Therapies.**

The chakras are constantly rotating and vibrating.
The activities in the them influence our: Body shape, Glandular processes, Chronic physical ailments, Thoughts, and Behaviors.
When one (or more) of the chakra is blocked and the energy does not flow harmoniously through them, or it is wide open, it will result in imbalance that is manifested in all areas of life.
Each chakra is expressed on the physical body in one of the endocrine glands that regulate physical and emotional processes in the body. The imbalance in the chakra will also be expressed in the endocrine gland linked to it.
Chakra cleanse uses a variety of techniques to help balance the chakras. This is especially good to do after a major storm or event in ones life.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Techniques that utilize deep-tissue/deep-muscle massage are administered to affect the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. These techniques require advanced training and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. The muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep-tissue massage, otherwise tight surface muscles prevent the practitioner from reaching deeper musculature. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. It is generally integrated with other massage techniques.

EAR CANDLING

Ear candling is a folk medicine practice intended to assist the natural clearing of earwax (cerumen) and "toxins" from a person's ear by means of a hollow candle placed in the ear. It involves lighting one end of the hollow candle, and placing the other end in the ear canal. One end of a cylinder or cone of waxed cloth is lit, and the other placed into the subject's ear. Usually the subject is lying on one side with the treated ear uppermost and the candle vertical, perhaps stuck through a paper plate or aluminum pie tin to protect against any hot wax or ash falling down the side. The flame is extinguished approximately two inches from the body, sometimes using a dish of water. An ear candling session can last up to 45 minutes, during which time a series of 1 or 2 ear candles may be burned for each ear. The experience is generally described as being unusual, but pleasant and relaxing. However, there is also the rare danger of burns or damage to the ear from hot wax or ash when candles without filters are used.

ESSENTIAL OILS
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An essential oil is a concentrated, hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential oils are also known as volatile, ethereal oils or aetherolea, or simply as the "oil of" the plant from which they were extracted, such as oil of clove. An oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant. Essential oils do not as a group need to have any specific chemical properties in common, beyond conveying characteristic fragrances.

Essential oils are generally extracted by distillation. Other processes include expression, or solvent extraction. They are used in perfumes, cosmetics, soap and other products, for flavoring food and drink, and for scenting incense and household cleaning products.

Various essential oils have been used medicinally at different periods in history. Medical application proposed by those who sell medicinal oils range from skin treatments to remedies for cancer, and are often based on historical use of these oils for these purposes. Such claims are now subject to regulation in most countries, and have grown more vague to stay within these regulations.

Interest in essential oils has revived in recent decades with the popularity of aromatherapy, a branch of alternative medicine which claims that the specific aromas carried by essential oils have curative effects. Oils are volatilized or diluted in a carrier oil and used in massage, diffused in the air by a nebulizer or by heating over a candle flame, or burned as incense, for example.

ION FOOT BATH

An Ion Foot Bath is a self contained machine that helps detoxify our bodies through the use ofbrass and stainless steel electrodes that draws the bodies toxic waste matter out through the pores of our feet into a gentle bath of warm salt water. Sea salt is sprinkled into the water as a conductor of crystalline energy helping to stabilize the water field and draw the waste out of the body to itself, thus providing the body with a balanced and yet, gentle way of purging and detoxifying itself without hidden stressors. The Ion Foot Bath helps to clean and balance the bio-energy field in the body, the electro-magnetic force, that vital force energy that is found in all the bodily fluids as well as in our breath, body organs, and deep within our cells.

POWER NAP

Enjoy a private room allowing you to unwind from your stressed, overworked surroundings.
Soothing music by PowerNap, an herbal eye pillow and aromatherapy oils are used, making it easy to relax and re-energize for work or the rest of your day!  Power Naps last 30 min and are perfect for any time of the day.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A power nap, also known as a Stage 2 nap, is a short slumber of 20 minutes or less which terminates before the occurrence of deep slow-wave sleep (SWS), intended to quickly revitalize the napper. The expression "power nap" was coined by Cornell University social psychologist James Maas.

The 20-minute nap increases alertness and motor skills. Various durations may be recommended for power naps, which are very short compared to regular sleep. The short duration prevents nappers from sleeping so long that they enter the slow wave portion of the normal sleep cycle without being able to complete the cycle. Entering deep, slow-wave sleep and failing to complete the normal sleep cycle, can result in a phenomenon known as sleep inertia, where one feels groggy, disoriented, and even more sleepy than before beginning the nap. In order to attain optimal post-nap performance, a Stage 2 nap must be limited to the beginning of a sleep cycle, specifically sleep stages N1 and N2, typically 18 to 25 minutes.

People who regularly take these short naps may develop a good idea of the duration which works best for them, as well as which tools, environment, position, and associated factors help produce the best results. Power naps are effective even when schedules allow a full night's sleep. Mitsuo Hayashi and Tadao Hori[ have demonstrated that a nap improves mental performance, even after a full night's sleep.

RAINDROP THERAPY

**I earned my Certificate for Raindrop Therapy through Patricia McPherson at Derwen Holistic Therapies. The blend of oils I use are hers. This treatment is NOT the same as the Young Living. **

Developed as a result of extensive research, Raindrop Therapy is a massage technique that applies carefully selected essential oils along the spine to correct back pain caused by muscular tension and toxicity. Viruses and bacteria lie dormant along the spine, not only depleting the immune system, but eventually causing inflammation and misalignment among other problems.

These powerful essential oils, known for their anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, work to correct many of the ailments suffered as a result of blockages in the nerves along the spinal column.

An eight step technique is used to apply the essential oils blends along the spine. Using a variety of hand to body techniques the oils are then massaged in after which towels are used to complete each application and help with absorption. Some of the benefits reported include:

•Relieved stress and anxiety
•Pain relief
•Spinal realignment
•Revitalization
•Detoxification
And many have said that the benefits can last not only for several days but sometimes weeks, even months.

REIKI

**I have currently take Reiki I and Reiki II and look forward to continueing my training by taking Reiki Master when I feel the time is right.**

Reiki is both powerful and gentle. It is a safe, non-invasive form of hands on healing where the practitioner places her hands on the client's body at specified areas to channel energy into the body.  Blockages are released and energy is stimulated.  Reiki is used to relieve pain, strengthen the immune system, rebalance the functioning of the organs, eliminate toxins form the body, calm the mind and emotions, aid in concentration, help in the greiving process and generally accelerate the body's own healing process.  Reiki is very effective for stress related problems, leaving you feeling calm, relaxed and more in control.  Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Sports massage is designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery. There are three contexts in which sports massage can be useful to an athlete: pre-event, post-event, and injury treatment. Pre-event massage is delivered at the performance site, usually with the athlete fully clothed. Fast-paced and stimulating, it helps to establish blood flow and to warm up muscles. During the massage, the athlete generally focuses on visualizing the upcoming event. Post-event massage is also delivered on site, through the clothes. The intent here is to calm the nervous system and begin the process of flushing toxins and waste products out of the body. Post-event massage can reduce recovery time, enabling an athlete to resume training much sooner than rest alone would allow. When an athlete sustains an injury, skillful massage therapy can often speed and improve the quality of healing.

SWEDISH MASSAGE

One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Five basic strokes, all flowing toward the heart, are used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The disrobed client is covered by a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed. Therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive, and tapping movements, with the application of oil, to reduce friction on the skin. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.
